Human resources play a prominent role in the analysis of the development and competitiveness of the SME sector, therefore the discussion of the human resources is inevitable during the general characterisation of the sector. The development of and application of the appropriate organisational culture, motivation, competence are fundamental competitiveness factors of the success of SMEs. Maslow's hierarchy of needs can be adapted to the SMEs. The role of the state is necessary for the success of SMEs. The European Union continues to give special emphasis to the SME sector in the future, as one of the key business sectors influencing the economic success of a nation.

Nowadays, no one is questioning the fact that climate change is taking place, and this is partly due to anthropogenic emissions. Tourism also contributes to greenhouse gas emissions alongside large emitting sectors, but its impact is very challenging to quantify. For the Member States of the European Union, data on gross value added (GVA) and greenhouse gas emissions were used from the Eurostat database for the entire national economy and Section I (tourism) for the period 2008-2019. In our research, we aim to look for the phenomenon of absolute decoupling in the economy and tourism sector of the Member States of the European Union. Looking for states for which tourism (Section I) has an absolute decoupling feature, their good practice and policy can serve as an example for other Member States.

The purpose of this paper is to describe positive externalities of operations of castle and palace museums in Poland for private companies in local tourism sector. The paper presents the results of the author's original research, which was based on the multiple case study method. Results show that castle and palace museums in Poland generate positive externalities for private business operations in local tourism sector in three forms, i.e.: location, view and image. They appear in production functions of firms in the shape of: a reduction of customer acquisition costs, a reduction of production costs due to economies of scale, a creative contribution to product, logo, name and brand. A model of the impact of the operations of castle and palace museums on the production function of local tourism companies through the mechanism of external effects has been named: Museum Radiation Model.

For a long time, companies in the financial sector and their management were measured exclusively in terms of business success. However, the public debate on issues such as equality, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability has now also reached the financial sector.
At the same time, brands are increasingly being asked to demonstrate their attitude. Financial service providers are increasingly meeting this demand. However, the distribution of financial and insurance products in Germany is largely carried out by commercially independent small and medium-sized distribution partners.
This research project aims to identify the significance of the career building block 'ethical competence' for a career in financial services sales. Within the framework of a qualitative content analysis, 50 German-language university study programs in the field of "sales management" are examined. The consideration of ethical aspects in the curriculum is investigated. In a second step, a large-scale survey of sales managers will be conducted. This will determine the extent to which the study programs meet the expectations of practice regarding business ethics.
