Abstract Tourism is not only an economic factor, but also has social and environmental impacts. In the case of Transcarpathia, it is especially important that tourists not only appear as transiters, but also leave the region enriched with real experiences. The EU offers several development programs targeting different regions and sectors, so the development of tourism in Transcarpathia can also benefit from EU funding. A key role in increasing the region's tourist attractiveness is the renewal of marketing and sales strategies. One of the most important aspects of EU projects is innovation, especially the integration of digital technologies into tourism. In addition to the use of digital technology, EU projects are also moving Transcarpathia towards sustainable tourism. The innovative impact of EU projects on tourism in Zakarpattia is extremely positive. Sustainable tourism, infrastructure development, the use of digital technologies and the involvement of local communities all contribute to making the area increasingly attractive to tourists.
