Resources, including human resources in most rural regions are limited. Residents leave these regions and move to the cities and onto communities along the main trnasportation lines. Internal migration like this is expressed in Serbia too. The situation in Subotica is very interesting in regard to these processes. We defined human and social capital, as collective property wich allows us to reach higher level of productivity and effectivity, but at the same time it also represents individual property enabling the fullfillment of individual and collective goals. This is significant for the interconections that exist between social networks and social...

Hajnalka Borbély

DETUROPE - The Central European Journal of Regional Development and Tourism 2010, 2(1):32-46 | DOI: 10.32725/det.2010.003

My paper presents the rehabilitation ambitions of the city management and the population of Veszprém to get into focus the earlier attractive parts of the city. Veszprém has been liked by the visitors, because of its special conditions: for example it is situated near by the Lake Balaton. The city managers transformed Veszprém several times for expectations of political claims in its long historical past. Some parts of the cityscape we can only develop, the other parts which neglected and started decay must be reconstructing and rehabilitating for that aim to protect and save them for the generation of the future.

When we speak about sustainability there is a sector of industry that deserves attention because of its increasing economic weight in the past decades, the rising number of stakeholders and the widening circle of service providers. This sector is the tourism industry, which has an impact not only on the economy of the visited country but also on the social, cultural and environmental relations, so if we speak about sustainability, we can not ignore its role and effect. Tourism has become so a part of sustainable development, which can be conduced through the application of the Tourism Destination Management (TDM) all over the world (Ritchie, Crouch,...

After 19th of December 2009 citizens of Serbia can travel without a visa to the Schengen area. There has been (and still is) a significant population motion between Serbia and Hungary since the south-slavic wars. The one of the most considerable group of foreign population are the Serbians in Hungary. That's why it is important to know what kind of features and spatial impacts characterize the international migration between these two neighboring countries. In this article we are going to study the migration method from Serbia to Hungary. An analysis of the spatial distribution of migrants shows that there are two separate and considerable geographical...

Zoltán Takács

DETUROPE - The Central European Journal of Regional Development and Tourism 2010, 2(1):103-125 | DOI: 10.32725/det.2010.007

The medical branch and institutional infrastructure as well as medical education have to face the inherited deficiencis of the previous system. Due to the fact that regionalization programs support headcount reduction, the newly graduates and former students are often searching for years to find themselves a job. This is a proof that there isn't any convergence between the existing educational system and the labor market. Our educational system does not track the changes that are taking place on the market, nor the necessary competences suggested by the employers. The North Voivodina region the medical high schools (in Senta, Subotica) and employers...
